We are excited to announce our follow-on investment in Power Roll, which has just raised £3.8m to accelerate the development of its ultra-thin, ultra-light weight, and low cost solar film – with the potential to massively expand the type of surfaces where solar energy solutions can be deployed – hence to greatly increase and accelerate the rollout of solar power globally.
Commenting on the fundraise, Neil Spann, CEO of Power Roll, said:
“We remain extremely grateful to Green Angel Ventures and their investor base for their continued support and investment. This latest round will help Power Roll gear up our team and our technology as we prepare for the UK’s first commercial scale flexible solar film factory in 2025.”
Spann concludes:
“Solar power is one of the most powerful allies in the fight against climate change. But limitations in existing solar technologies are preventing more extensive use across the globe. We’re here to change that, enabling the production of solar power in all sorts of places, all over the world, including the 12 billion square metres of global rooftops where existing solar solutions cannot be deployed. We will do this without breaking the bank or causing harm to our plant or its people. This additional investment from GAV provides a springboard to make our flexible solar film an irresistible green energy solution.”
