Sention Technologies raises £3.7 million to commercialise AI and ultrasound-based battery diagnostics

21 May 2025

Green Angel Ventures is proud to back Sention Technologies in its latest seed round, bringing the company’s total funding to £3.7 million as it commercialises its battery diagnostics technologies.

Sention is redefining battery diagnostics with a rapid, low-cost solution that combines non-invasive ultrasonic scanning and AI-driven data analysis. Their proprietary scanning technology lets manufacturers ‘see inside’ batteries by listening to them, enabling accurate health assessments, failure predictions, and waste reduction without opening or damaging the cells.

With battery demand surging and scrappage rates as high as 30%, this innovation offers a powerful tool for reducing inefficiencies, improving safety, and accelerating the shift to cleaner energy.

Building on existing international sales, Sention will use the funds to accelerate the commercialisation of its Senturion ultrasound instruments that offer real-time, non-invasive 3D scanning of the internal structure of batteries, as well as its AI-driven data fusion software, Sentinel. The company will also invest in R&D for its next-generation product, Sentry, designed to integrate directly into production lines. Additional funding will support international customer acquisition, enabling Sention to serve a broader spectrum of battery manufacturers and energy innovators.

Dan Brett, Co-founder and CEO of Sention, said: “This funding represents a significant milestone for Sention as we continue to innovate at the forefront of battery diagnostics. We are grateful to our investors for supporting our mission to enable the electrochemical power revolution by enhancing the performance, quality, and safety of batteries.”

Cam Ross, CEO of Green Angel Ventures, said: “We are excited to back Sention’s advanced diagnostic technology. By reducing waste, improving efficiency, and enhancing safety, this technology supports a more sustainable battery industry, helping to meet the growing demand for cleaner energy solutions.”
