Anzen secures pre-seed funding to advance the world’s first plug-and-play solid-state heat pump

12 June 2025

Anzen, a pioneering climate tech startup, has secured £1.1 million in its pre-seed funding round. The investment was led by Green Angel Ventures and Desai Ventures, with significant contributions from Sustainable Ventures, Colbridge Ventures, OnePlanetCapital, and experienced energy industry investors.

Anzen’s innovative solution, the Anzen Climate Wall, is the world’s first plug-and-play solid-state heat pump. Utilising advanced thermoelectric technology, it offers heating, cooling, and ventilation in a single device, without the need for refrigerants, outdoor units, or complex installations. Designed for rapid deployment, the system can be installed in under a day, making it ideal for the UK’s 12.5 million homes which are unsuitable for traditional heat pumps because of space, access and other constraints.

The funds raised will accelerate Anzen’s pilot deployments with housing providers and utilities, and will support the development of the initial manufacturing programme ahead of a broader commercial rollout in 2026.

Dhruv Shah, CEO of Anzen, said: “True sustainability is about environmental, economic and societal impact. The Anzen Climate Wall will cut carbon emissions, while improving wellbeing through better thermal comfort and indoor air quality, and, just as important, it will help people to heat their homes more affordably.”

Cam Ross, CEO of Green Angel Ventures, said: “Anzen has turned plug-and-play solid-state heat pumps from theory into real-world practicality. By using advanced semiconductors to switch seamlessly between heating and cooling, they’ve created a system that’s up to three times more efficient than conventional electric heaters. Add integrated ventilation, sleek design, and effortless installation, and you’ve got a scalable solution that works across the UK housing stock. That’s a rare combination in home energy tech.”
